WOYZECK
Woyzeck was adapted and directed by Glenn D’Cruz, it was publicly performed over a period of three days from the 27th of September until the 29th of September 2017. This classic story was first written by Georg Büchner in 1836, it has been adapted and directed by numerous people around the world since then.

Kathy played a variety of roles within this production such as Margaret, Marie and the Grandmother alongside an incredible group of performers who were also playing multiple roles throughout the production.
“As an ensemble we devised the overall structure of the performance from scenes to costumes and instrumental accompaniment. This production relied heavily on symbolism to depict character and location, it also relied on the use of immense focus from the performers throughout the duration of the production.”
The whole ensemble was on stage throughout the entire production in a didactic representation similar to that depicted in Epic Theatre. Just like in most Brechtian productions, having the actors on stage continuously and using alienation at certain times helped remind the audience that they were observing a performance. Woyzeck was a production that incorporated not only elements of Epic Theatre but of Method Acting as well. It was a production that required extreme focus from the performers as they had to stand still for long periods of time.
